"There are three types of people in this world, whom when placed in a room, either stare at the door, the window or the art. He who fixes the door does not want to know the truth, he who targets the window cannot handle the truth, he who studies the art makes love with the truth.
Art is Truth, and is made from dreams. By deduction, this does not make all Artists Dreamers, not does it make of each Dreamer an Artist.
He who decides to hang dreams on his wall is the smartest person in the world, for he is the one who has understood that dreams are the windows to the soul.
He who hangs his own dreams on his wall is still asleep;
He who hangs other peoples' dreams on his wall is a collector;
He who hangs nothing on his wall is already dead." ………………………. Dorothy Lina Rosenblum (An interview with a blue whale)
It's good isn't it…..and dare I say….probably true.
My dear Parisian blogging friend, Christian Claisse, emailed it to me the other day.
Christian's a wonderful Parisian artist. That's his glorious work above.
I remember he left a message on my blog one day back in June 2012 (there's a link below)……that's when we had our first 'e-connection' and ever since we've ticked tacked across the blogosphere.
We seem to like similar things….and Chris has a wonderful, dry sense of humour that I love! He's just recovered from a terrible "triptych" but is doing extremely well now!!!!
Chris also writes an Art blog called "le-banc-moussu" direct from Paris and it's the only blog that I followed when I returned to Australia in 2013. His blogs posts are fascinating....beautifully photographed and he writes about the 'essence' of the works.
When I travel with Christian on his blog to those Parisian Art galleries, I'm miraculously whisked away to my Parisian dream once again!
So if you happen to be in Paris at this time….and May is the best time to be in Paris…then, as Molly would say, "Do yourself a favour…..".
Christian's contact details are as follows:

You'll see my interpretation of the Cooroy trees, light, bark, green, archway and crystal chandelier, birds, insects, rust, shadows, wire, fences....and calm.
Here they are…hope you like them.
I know I should be putting these works onto a proper Art website….but I guess I'd rather be making Art than fiddling on the computer….and whenever you start fiddling on the computer it always takes twice as long as you expected.
Unfortunately, I have one huge failing....absolutely no patience with computers!!!!!!!!!!

Robyn, I absolutely love your work. So evocative and beautifully detailed will all sorts of imaginings. I am so thrilled to have my little recent collection!!! I will show you when I get the pieces framed. :) xxx
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm thrilled that you've got my lovely Astier de Villette series FF. You're the absolutely perfect person for those works! I would really appreciate seeing them when framed FF. Hope your weekend is restful....but I suppose you're cooking up a storm for lucky Mr Fascinata!!
DeleteCiao
Robyn
Hi, dear Robyn! I'm sorry to report that Christian's art does not load or appear on my screen. However, your mixed media Cooroy collages show up just fine. They are marvelous, imaginative works that make my right brain tingle. I also appreciated the series of quotes which can be applied in a broader sense beyond the scope of art. Thank you for all the beauty revealed in this post, dear friend Robyn. Good night to you and have a safe and happy weekend!

DeleteOh dear...thanks for letting me know Shady Del and I'll see if I can rectify that little problem.
DeleteA right brain tingler!! Now that's something to aspire to isn't it?
You might like this too Shady Del. The other night I watched a film on telly about Scott Walker from Walker Bros. fame. I know you'd be well versed in "You've Lost that Lovin' Feeling" etc etc ...but did you know that, for some time now, Scott has composed highly original...I guess 'abstract' compositions. I had no idea....his new music was never played here in Australia.
I like it when people break out of the mould and do what is truly 'them'. Scott certainly has.
The film was called, "Scott Walker, 30 Century Man".
Not sure if I'll like his new music...but I'll certainly give it a go.....his 1960s music was divine.
Anyway, Shady Del...enjoy your weekend too....and I'm still waiting very patiently for the next instalment.
Ciao

Hi again, dear Robyn! I wasn't aware that Scott Walker was producing abstract musical compositions. That's interesting. Thanks for letting me know. I will be featuring The Walker Brothers in several upcoming posts as part of my series Echoes of the Spectorian Era.
DeleteMy new blog installment was already published first thing this morning. This week I am celebrating the 104th birthday of Shady Dell owner Helen Ettline. Have a delightful Saturday and a wonderful weekend, dear Robyn!
Echoes of the Spectorian Era....can't wait for that Shady Del.
DeleteYes...I think you'll find "Scott Walker 30 Century Man" very interesting...I certainly did.
Will look out for your next blog installment Shady Del and Happy Birthday to dear Helen. We need many, many more people like the Shady Dell owners!!
Ciao for now
Robyn
OMG Robyn!!! What a beautiful series......not that I'm biased mind you! Can't wait to see the rest of the series.....will definitely find some space for some of these.... after all as your above, DL Rosenblum quote states: "He who hangs nothing on his wall.................(I wouldn't want to be there....!!)
ReplyDeleteKeep up your brilliant work. Jude
No chance Jude!!! I've decided I'm just not going there!!!!!!!!!
DeleteI think I've enough inspiration at your property Jude to last me a lifetime....so lots more to come.
Don't forget to sit under that chandelier for a quiet rest too.....all work and no play....
See you soon.
Ciao
