Walks. The body advances, while the mind flutters around it like a bird. (Jules Renard)
Such a beautiful quote...and it's so true, isn't it.
Walking through Paris has been one of the loveliest things that Pierre and I have been doing these last six months......strolling, sauntering, meandering, exploring new areas and revisiting old favourites.
Promenading through the Tuileries has always been a favourite of ours....it's a wonderful Parisian park that stretches all the way from Place de Concorde to the Louvre. Little kiosks are scattered throughout the park where one can stop for a cool drink or glace/ice-cream....and the sculptures in the Tuileries (and there are many) are superb.
The other Sunday afternoon Pierre and I took another leisurely stroll through the Tuileries....it was high Summer....but you could sense that Autumn was near....russet and yellow tinges were clearly visible on those magnificent chestnut trees.
A bientot.

The start of our walk...near Place de Concorde....then a slow promenade through the Tuileries and finally to the Louvre. |
The 'Welcoming Hands" sculptures.... perhaps these sculptures are welcoming all to enjoy a promenade through this lovely park. |
Autumn is on its way. |
The perfect spot for a Summer refreshment. |
And yes...billy goats et al... enjoying the delicious green grass of the Tuileries. |
I could have sat by the lake for hours.... but thank heavens I had my parapluie.... it was soooo hot! |
Magnificent bronze and marble sculptures are positioned throughout the park....just pull up a green garden chair and let the mind flutter. |
Then under the archway....and across to le Louvre. |
What an extraordinary building the Louvre is.... both inside and out. |
Magnificent reflections....le Louvre. |
That facade....I just never get tired of gazing at it. |
Summertime....and the livin' is easy! |
And what a wonderful way to finish our afternoon promenade... sitting on the terrace at Café Marly overlooking that glass pyramid. Trés, trés bon! |
