Boys Will Be Boys

YIPPPPEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

It was party time on Sunday and I met up with my griffon brothers, Xiac and Xox for a celebration.
This is Xiac.
This is Xox.
And of course, you know me, Xiu Xiu.

We're griffons and we're part of the "X" Litter!
We rocked….
and rolled….
and did the bump.
We had lots of yummy things to eat….
and we really liked playing on the pebble rug.
Mummy kept saying "Boys will be boys."  I'm not sure what she meant by that.

Our favourite game was "Play in the Tunnel and Rip it to Shreds".
Exploring the garden was fun too.

Xox liked posing in the pot plant….but he wasn't too fussed when told to get out.
And when it was time for us to go home, Uncles Darryl and Lewis gave us party hats and treats.
Woof!  Woof!  What a great party!!!!!!!!!!
Sniff you later!!

Woof!  Woof!

Mr Monkey went to the party too....he just loves the "X" Litter!

automatic_sketching

I've found a new iPhone app that turns your photograph into an automatic sketch.  Like this....
....and this....
....and this.
Incredible!!
Not sure what I'll do with my automatic sketches....praps I'll get a few printed up and assemble a window collage of them.

I saw these air plants up at a local bromeliad show.  They absolutely stopped me in my tracks!!

Architectural,  easy to grow and in colours that I want for our new townhouse garden....green, black and white.

I'm planning a mass planting of them down the side fence and garden.....could look interesting I think!
Anyway, I'm off to the local garden centre now.....for some Cousin It....and maybe some automatic sketching!
Ciao

Life Was Meant to be Easy

I've been soooo busy since my last post.  Flat out like a lizard drinking!!!

Playing, going for walks, attending puppy school, having a shampoo and blow-dry, discovering new people and places, meeting up with my brother and exploring all the local haunts!

Every day seems to be so hectic.
It's exhausting!  And, you know, sometimes I just want to chill.
So, this morning, I went down to the 'local' with mummy for a coffee.  Nice.
Nodding off was even better.
Well, life was meant to be easy, wasn't it?
I think I'll let mummy do the blog posts from now on.

I'm going to take it a bit slower.

Ciao

Woof!  Woof!

Under My Thumb

Woof!  Woof!  How are you?

Let me introduce myself.

My name is Xiu Xiu and I'm a red griffon bruxellois.

My family hail from Brussels, Belgium.

It'a a great little country, the home of Magritte, linen, lace and the best chocolates.
My cousin in Brussels, that bearded griffon on the left back wall below, had his portrait painted by someone famous.
Mummy's got lots of portraits of me too.
"The Royal One"
"Under My Thumb"
"Little Monkey"
Mummy's got some lovely Belgian lace like these curtains and she's going to make me a winter coat with a lace collar.  I know I'll like it.

I like lots and lots of things..... like digging.....and fetching.....and exploring.....and, of course, chasing mummy and daddy.

I like treats too....not Belgian chocolates though.....chocolate's not to my canine taste thank you.
I prefer a delicious pig's ear…….so yummy!
I'm still finding my way though.  There's so much to learn when you're little.
I'm still looking for my perfect spot in the sun.  This little chap above has a good one.
I love jumping in the leaves too....but mummy's not keen on me chewing them.  Sometimes, when I chew the leaves, she says, "Xiu Xiu you're a little monkey!"
After my morning playtime, I like sitting on the sofa with mummy for a cosy cuddle.

Anyway, it's time for my afternoon nap now....and then mummy's going to take me for a little walk....and then it's Din Dins....my favourite time!
Woof!  Woof!  Bye-bye!
